Everest Base Camp Trek & Mountain Medicine CME
March 7 – March 23, 2027
Join us for a 17-day Mountain Medicine CME expedition through the heart of the Himalaya, combining high-altitude trekking, austere medical education, and one of the most iconic journeys on Earth — the trek to Everest Base Camp.
This expedition blends immersive wilderness medicine education with a once-in-a-lifetime Himalayan trek, guiding you through Sherpa villages, glacial valleys, ancient monasteries, and along the traditional Everest climbing route. Along the way, you’ll experience close-up views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and countless other towering peaks that define the Khumbu region.
Designed for medical professionals and motivated adventurers, this course delivers 20 AMA PRA Category 1 CME™ credits while operating in the exact environments where mountain and expedition medicine matters most. Daily learning is integrated naturally into the trek, with education unfolding in lodges, villages, and remote alpine terrain — not conference halls.
This is not a packaged holiday.
This is a physically demanding, high-altitude expedition that rewards preparation, resilience, and curiosity — offering deep cultural connection, professional growth, and friendships that often last far beyond the mountains.

The environment is inclusive, supportive, and team-oriented, making it easy to feel welcomed — whether you arrive solo or with a partner.
The Experience
The Experience
This is not just a trek — it’s a high-altitude expedition and immersive learning journey into the heart of the Himalaya.
Over 17 days in Nepal, you’ll move deliberately through ancient mountain villages, glacial valleys, and sacred landscapes, gradually ascending toward Everest Base Camp while earning Mountain Medicine CME in the very environments where these skills matter most. Days are challenging, views are vast, and the experience is both physically demanding and deeply rewarding.
Evenings are spent in teahouses and lodges, sharing meals, stories, and reflection with a group that quickly feels like family. The pace allows for acclimatization, learning, and connection — creating a rhythm that balances effort with presence, and education with adventure.
Walk the Path of Everest
This journey follows the historic Everest climbing route, tracing the same paths used by legendary mountaineers for decades. You’ll hike beneath some of the tallest peaks on Earth, pass through Sherpa communities rich in culture and tradition, and stand at Everest Base Camp, where the world’s highest expeditions begin. From monasteries like Tengboche to panoramic viewpoints such as Kala Patthar, every step carries meaning, history, and awe.
Learn Where It Counts
Mountain medicine is not meant to be learned in a lecture hall. On this expedition, education is delivered in real terrain, at real altitude, and in real conditions. Wild Med Adventures faculty integrate CME naturally into the trek — discussing patient assessment, decision-making, and safety in the same environments where access is limited and consequences are real. Learning becomes practical, memorable, and immediately relevant.
The Flow of Each Day
Morning trekking through villages, valleys, and alpine terrain
Regular acclimatization pacing with intentional rest and hydration
Scenic breaks for education, discussion, and cultural interaction
Arrival at lodges or villages by afternoon
Evening learning sessions, reflection, and shared meals
This rhythm keeps the expedition sustainable, educational, and deeply immersive, allowing your body to adapt while your skills and confidence grow.
What You’ll Take Home
Yes, you’ll earn 20 AMA PRA Category 1 CME™ credits — but you’ll also leave with:
Firsthand experience operating at high altitude
Practical mountain medicine knowledge applied in real environments
A deeper understanding of Himalayan culture and expedition travel
Stronger confidence in your physical and mental resilience
Friendships built through shared challenge and purpose
Most people return home amazed that something this meaningful, challenging, and unforgettable could also count as CME — and already wondering where the next adventure will take them.
