Overview

Austria Ski CME
Feb. 20 – Feb. 27, 2027

Join us in St. Anton, Austria for a one-of-a-kind ski week that blends big-mountain adventure with wilderness-focused CME in an unforgettable alpine setting. This course is built for those who want to combine a true ski vacation with practical, travel-relevant medical education—including cold-related illness and the most common ski and mountain injuries encountered abroad.

We’ll complete the core curriculum of this CME certification course while you ski some of the most iconic terrain in Europe. With group transportation from Zurich, a 7-night stay in St. Anton, a 6-day ski pass, all breakfasts and dinners, and 17 hours of CME, you can leave the logistics behind and focus on what matters: excellent skiing, hands-on learning, and meeting like-minded clinicians who want their continuing education to feel more like a real adventure.

This is a nearly all-inclusive, hassle-free week designed to deliver high-value education in a setting that’s as inspiring as it is fun—and you’ll head home with new skills, new connections, and stories you’ll be telling for years.

Who It's For

Who It's For:

This course is designed for individuals who want to combine a true alpine ski vacation with adventure-focused continuing medical education, delivered in a real-world mountain environment.

This trip is ideal for

  • Clinicians seeking adventure-based CME
Physicians, PAs, NPs, nurses, medics, EMTs, and other medical professionals looking to earn CME while traveling and skiing in a high-alpine setting.

  • Providers interested in wilderness, travel, and austere medicine
Those who want focused education on cold exposure, ski-related trauma, and injuries commonly encountered while traveling or recreating abroad.

  • Experienced recreational skiers
Participants who are comfortable skiing full days and want their education integrated into an active, outdoor experience.

  • FAWM candidates and wilderness medicine enthusiasts
Individuals pursuing or holding FAWM or similar wilderness medicine credentials who want applicable, field-relevant learning.

Physical Requirements (Important)

  • Ability to ski comfortably for multiple consecutive days

  • Good general physical fitness for full ski days at altitude

  • Interest in wilderness, travel, or austere medicine topics

  • Proper winter clothing and personal ski equipment

  • Medical licensure is required only if CME credit is desired

This trip is not recommended for

  • Beginner skiers or individuals uncomfortable on alpine terrain

  • Travelers seeking a luxury, sightseeing-only vacation

  • Individuals unable to tolerate cold environments or full ski days

  • Those unwilling to accept the inherent risks of skiing and international travel

  • Anyone looking for a classroom-only CME experience

Group Dynamics

This is a small-group, highly social experience built around shared adventure, learning, and time on the mountain. Days are active and collaborative, with evenings spent learning together and connecting over meals. Participants often arrive solo and leave with strong friendships and professional connections that extend well beyond the trip.

The Experience

The Experience

This is not a ski vacation with a few lectures added on — it’s a full alpine immersion where world-class skiing and meaningful wilderness medicine education are seamlessly woven together.

You’ll spend your days carving turns across one of Europe’s most iconic ski regions, moving from village to village, piste to piste, surrounded by dramatic alpine scenery. Evenings shift gears into small-group CME sessions, where learning feels natural, relevant, and deeply connected to the environment you’ve been skiing in all day. It’s adventurous, social, and intentionally designed to feel nothing like a traditional conference.

Ski Europe Like an Insider

St. Anton isn’t just a ski destination — it’s the heart of a vast alpine playground. With a single ski pass, you’ll have access to over 80 lifts, 160+ miles of marked trails, and thousands of acres of off-piste terrain connecting St. Anton, Lech, Zürs, Stuben, and beyond. Add in cozy mountain huts, long ski days, and legendary après-ski culture, and you have a week that feels both epic and effortless.

Learn Where It Counts

Education happens in the same environment where the medicine applies. This course focuses on cold exposure, ski-related trauma, and injuries commonly encountered while traveling and recreating abroad, taught by experienced faculty who specialize in wilderness and austere medicine. Concepts discussed in the classroom are reinforced by the terrain, conditions, and real-world context surrounding you — making the learning more intuitive, memorable, and practical.

The Flow of Each Day

  • Breakfast at the hotel

  • Full ski day or optional free time on the mountain

  • Late afternoon return to St. Anton

  • Evening lectures and discussion

  • Group dinners and relaxed social time

This rhythm keeps days active and fun, while evenings remain focused, social, and educational — a balance that allows you to ski hard, learn well, and still feel energized throughout the week.

What You’ll Take Home

Yes, you’ll earn up to 17 hours of CME — but you’ll also leave with:

  • Sharpened skills in wilderness and travel medicine

  • A deeper understanding of ski- and cold-related injuries

  • Confidence applying medical decision-making in alpine environments

  • New professional connections and lasting friendships

  • Memories from a ski week you’ll talk about for years

Most people leave surprised by one thing:

They can’t believe this actually counts as CME — and immediately start asking where the next trip is.
