This is not a fishing vacation — it’s a fully immersive wilderness medicine experience built around world-class fly-fishing in remote Alaska.
Days are spent casting lines on legendary rivers, surrounded by untouched landscapes, abundant wildlife, and the raw beauty of one of the last true frontiers. Evenings bring everyone back to camp for excellent food, meaningful conversation, and education that feels natural — never forced.
This trip is intentionally designed to feel adventurous, relaxed, and deeply connected, where learning happens organically through shared experience and time spent outdoors.
Fly-Fishing in True Bear Country
Fishing the Naknek River system means sharing space with Alaskan brown bears, pristine waterways, and ecosystems that still operate on nature’s terms. Guided by highly experienced local professionals, you’ll spend full days exploring rivers and creeks that are rarely accessible, while gaining a front-row seat to Alaska’s wild rhythm. This isn’t just fishing — it’s participation in a living wilderness.

Education on this trip happens in the same environments where wilderness medicine decisions actually matter. The Wild Med Adventures faculty deliver hands-on lectures and workshops focused on outdoor illness and injury, allowing you to immediately connect medical concepts to real terrain, real weather, and real-world constraints. Learning in context deepens retention and makes every session more relevant.
