Catherine Dudley is an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant working in Western Massachusetts with a strong passion for the outdoors and adventure. She has extensive experience with search and rescue since 2009 and has been actively involved with the Central MA Search and Rescue since 2011. In addition, Catherine recently completed a 6-month assignment at McMurdo Station in Antarctica working at a remote field camp as the sole medical provider. She loves the outdoors, travel, and is an avid mountain biker. Along with becoming certified in Advanced Wilderness Life Support (AWLS) in 2014, she helped instruct our AWLS course that was held in the Adirondacks in September of 2015. In the last several years she has been able to make trips to Guatemala, Africa, Antarctica, and New Zealand just to name a few.

In 2014, she hiked the tallest peak in Central America - Volcán Tajumulco. Along with wilderness medicine she has an interest in navigation, search and rescue, technical rope skills and remote medicine.  Back at home she has been actively involved in Baystate’s Wild Med Interest group and spends as much time outdoors as she can hiking, biking and exploring. Catherine is always upbeat, energetic, and loves to teach.  We are excited to see what 2016 has in store for her as she applies for additional remote medicine work in Alaska.
